CES Reveals Trends for 2025 at a Glance
Regarded as a barometer of technology trends, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) held the CES 2025 Unveiled and “Trend to Watch” press conferences on January 5 and 6, U.S. time, forecasting three key trends in technology development for this year: the application of AI, robotics and health technology, and the importance of sustainability.
Brian Comiskey, Senior Director of Innovation and Trends at CTA, pointed out that upcoming focal trends will include AI assistants, digital twins, and humanoid robots. In addition to AI applications, digital health, energy sustainability, aging technology, and quantum technology will also be highlights of the exhibition.
AI Application Trends: AI Agents, Digital Twins, and Humanoid Robots Take Center Stage
AI is no longer a castle in the air, but rather a key driving force deeply embedded in various industries. Brian Comiskey noted that AI Agents, digital twins, and humanoid robots will be the focus. Generative AI is evolving into more autonomous AI Agents capable of executing complex tasks independently. At the same time, companies like NVIDIA and Siemens are actively developing digital twin technology to virtualize physical objects, thereby reducing R&D costs and enhancing efficiency.

Cho Ho-jin, CEO of GenGenStudio, emphasized that GenGenStudio can automatically generate AI images and simulate various events, significantly reducing the time required for manual data collection. Users can also simulate different accident scenarios to create the data necessary for developing autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), as well as adjust environmental variables. Currently, GenGen AI has received investment from NAVER’s accelerator D2SF and is collaborating with organizations such as the South Korean Army.
Robots are one of the focal points of this event, with various robotic products showcased at CES Unveiled, including humanoid robots, robotic pets, robotic dogs, gardening drones, and wearable devices such as smart glasses and smartwatches. These demonstrate that smart devices are evolving into more comprehensive intelligent platforms with increasingly diverse applications.

Human-Centric Innovation: The Sustainable Value of Products is Key
From the flourishing of AI in 2024 to its grounding in 2025, it has become a key force driving the transformation and upgrading of industries. “Innovation will be more human-centric than ever before,” Comiskey emphasized. Therefore, whether products can demonstrate sustainable value is crucial, especially as Generation Z, as early adopters of technology, places greater importance on the sustainability and usability of products. Research from the conference also indicates that if products possess multiple sustainable values such as recyclability and energy efficiency, the purchasing willingness of Generation Z will increase by 2.5 times.
From AI-driven innovations to human-centric health technology, CES 2025 not only paints a diverse picture of future living but also indicates that technological development will increasingly align with human needs, echoing this year’s core spirit—technology is human-centered and sustainability-oriented. Looking ahead, Comiskey pointed out that quantum technology will be the next significant development direction, with a dedicated quantum technology area established for the first time this year, anticipating a decade of quantum technology in the 2030s.
