Tai Shin Bank’s “Tai Shin Double Dog Cards,” including the GoGo Card and Flygo Card, will have new benefits for billing starting from December 1st. Among them, the highest 3.8% cashback for GoGo Card users who bind LINE Pay will end on November 30th, causing many netizens to feel “heartbroken.”
According to the latest benefits announced by Tai Shin Bank, it can be observed that both the Black Dog Card (GoGo Card) and the Flying Dog Card (Flygo Card) will have slight reductions in cashback benefits. In addition to the removal of the LINE Pay 3.8% cashback for the Black Dog Card, the Flygo Card will also cancel the cashback for CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC) and Taiwan High-Speed Rail.
However, for the Black Dog Card, Tai Shin Bank is also launching a new promotion to replace the LINE Pay cashback. Starting from December, the “JKo Pay” will have a new maximum 3% Tai Shin Point cashback.
Why remove LINE Pay and turn to cooperation with JKo Pay? Tai Shin Bank stated that according to data observation, GoGo Card users prefer to use mobile payment methods such as LINE Pay for shopping. JKo Pay has covered nearly 80% of these scenes, such as major convenience stores, Carrefour, CPC, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.
In addition, JKo Pay is not only the largest electronic payment provider in Taiwan but has also joined the government’s actively promoted “TWQR cross-institution shared platform.” This platform focuses on making electronic payment partners usable in various scenes, which were originally only open to Taiwan Pay, AllPay, and E.Sun Pay, with the possibility of JKo Pay being gradually included.
With the reduction of the GoGo Card’s cashback rate to 3%, are the new benefits advantageous? Tai Shin Bank pointed out that in the eight years since the GoGo Card was issued, it has accumulated a large number of digital native customers who prefer online shopping. Therefore, in addition to continuing to offer cashback for popular online shopping platforms such as Shopee, Momo, KuPang, PChome, Yahoo, and Amazon, new partners such as Eastern Home Shopping and Books.com.tw have been added to provide a complete user online shopping experience.
At the same time, taking advantage of the travel boom, the card offers 3% cashback for six hotel booking websites: Agoda, Trip.com, Booking.com, Airbnb, Hotels.com, and Expedia.
