Taobao also supports JieKouPay! Taobao Taiwan announced recently that it has partnered with JieKouPay to officially introduce localized payment services, targeting Taiwanese users such as students and those without credit cards. Users can now choose JieKouPay as a payment method, making the payment process more convenient.
JieKouPay is the only electronic payment platform in Taiwan that directly connects with 29 major banks. Through this partnership with Taobao, users no longer need to bind their credit cards on the Taobao website. They can make payments through their bank accounts or stored value methods, allowing groups such as college students without credit cards to easily shop without having to pay a 1.5% overseas transaction fee.
Fan Tingzhen, the General Manager of JieKouPay, pointed out that through JieKouPay’s advantage of having a large number of verified users, Taiwanese consumers in the future will not need to repeatedly enter payment information or go through identity authentication. They will be able to use this new payment method for cross-border shopping on Taobao without having to pay credit card transaction fees. Additionally, they can accumulate JieKouPay coins as rewards.

Good news for those without credit cards! JieKouPay offers two promotions for this collaboration. Users who pay with JieKou’s “JieLi Savings Account” will receive 2% JieKou coins back with no limit for each transaction. Those who pay with the “JieKou Account” will receive up to 1% JieKou coins back with no limit for each transaction. From 8:00 pm on October 31st to November 11th, there will also be a limited-time offer of waived transaction fees at checkout, targeting the Double 11 shopping festival.
In addition to JieKouPay, Taobao also provides multiple payment options including Visa, JCB, Citibank account payments, and JieKouPay, to meet the diverse needs of consumers and provide more flexible choices.
In 2024, in addition to site-wide promotions, Taobao will launch the “First Purchase Red Envelope” plan for new users. New users who register a Taobao account can immediately receive a 60 yuan shopping red envelope (approximately 270 New Taiwan dollars). First-time purchasers will also enjoy three exclusive services: free local returns, zero taxes and fees, and no payment transaction fees.
Furthermore, this year Taobao offers free shipping for over 10 billion items site-wide. For single purchases over 99 yuan (approximately 445 New Taiwan dollars), customers can choose to pick up their orders at 7-Eleven convenience stores or have them delivered by sea shipping, both free of charge.
