On July 3, 3C retailer Godbrain revealed the best-selling mobile phones for the first half of 2024! Unsurprisingly, the champion remains the Apple iPhone 15 series, followed by Samsung’s A55 and S24 securing second and third places, respectively. Additionally, the shutdown of 3G networks from July onwards has spurred a wave of upgrades to entry-level phones priced below 5,000 NT dollars.
According to Godbrain, the top 10 best-selling phones in the first half of this year are as follows: iPhone 15 series, Samsung Galaxy A55 series, Samsung Galaxy S24 series, OPPO A79, iPhone 13, Samsung Galaxy A15, vivo Y27, OPPO Reno 11 series, Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G, and vivo V30 series.

Godbrain indicated that even in 2021, the iPhone 13 continued to be favored by consumers, ranking fifth on the list. Among high-end models, many opted for the iPhone 15 series and Samsung Galaxy S24 series, known for their AI capabilities. In the mid-range segment, the Samsung Galaxy A55 was the most popular choice, while the OPPO A79 led in the entry-level category.
Analyzing the impact of the June shutdown of 3G networks, Godbrain noted a surge in users upgrading to 4G or 5G plans, particularly driving a 20% growth in sales of entry-level phones priced below 5,000 NT dollars compared to last year.
In terms of contract sales, Godbrain pointed out that during the first half of the year, a majority of users opted for 5G plans when purchasing Android phones, with over half choosing plans priced at 599 NT dollars or 1399 NT dollars. For iOS phone buyers, 75% selected the 1399 NT dollar plan.
