Intersection of AI and Blockchain
AI tools have invaded people’s daily lives in the past two years and have become the focus of discussions on technology trends. On the other hand, blockchain technology, also considered a new technology, has weakened in terms of topicality and even sparked discussions on “who is the true third-generation internet (Web3), AI or blockchain.”
The “Web3+” forum scheduled for November 2024, titled “The Intersection of AI and Blockchain,” has invited Taka, Chairman of the Blockchain Enthusiasts Association, Kordan, Founder and CEO of KryptoGO, and Sofia Yan, Co-founder and Chief Growth Strategist of Numbers Protocol, to conduct an in-depth discussion.
The indispensable elements of the future internet
What is the intersection between AI and blockchain?
Taka first points out an important concept. Despite the current popularity of AI and the adoption by many blockchain companies, the concept of AI has been applied in the fields of data science and big data for a long time. The current blockchain technology is based on these profound foundations and has begun to integrate with AI.
“The AI technology in Web3 is not just to chase trends but is driven by the needs of the future internet architecture,” says Taka.
Regarding this “need,” Kordan provides an example. AI and blockchain are indispensable elements of the future internet because they can form a strong connection and achieve synergistic effects in many aspects.
He explains, “AI can accelerate the development of the Web3 world, while blockchain can ensure the security and privacy of AI applications.” KryptoGO, founded by Kordan, focuses on the integration of AI technology and blockchain applications, especially in the field of digital asset security and compliance. He explains that KryptoGO’s technology combines facial recognition with blockchain to create secure digital identity verification and applies AI to the management of blockchain assets, enhancing the system’s credibility and operational efficiency.
Kordan also mentions the importance of blockchain technology in enhancing the credibility of AI systems. With the rise of generative AI, the content generated is not entirely reliable. Blockchain technology can trace the source of data and ensure the authenticity of AI-generated content.

Does AI also need blockchain support?
Referring to tracing the source of data, Sofia shares the specific application of Numbers Protocol in the integration of AI and blockchain. She points out that instead of focusing on how blockchain can help AI, it is more important to explore how AI can achieve data transparency and traceability with the support of blockchain.
As early as 2018, Numbers Protocol began to delve into the tracing of image content, especially in the context of the spread of fake news. Validating AI-generated content posed a major challenge. To solve this problem, Numbers Protocol uses blockchain technology to upload information such as the generation process, shooting location, and time of each image or video, ensuring its authenticity and traceability. This not only effectively prevents the spread of fake news but also allows content creators to protect their copyright assets.
Numbers Protocol has not only collaborated with Taiwanese media this year to track and verify images during the presidential election but also worked with international media to enhance content transparency and credibility.
In the future, as the blockchain industry becomes more mature, the demand for collaboration between AI and blockchain will only increase. It is certain that both are indispensable underlying technologies for entering the Web3 era.
